Nicolás Sartorius


Nicolás Sartorius (San Sebastián, 1938) is a Spanish lawyer, politician, and journalist. He was detained and convicted on several occasions during the Franco dictatorship due to his political stance, and he was one of the defendants in the case known as Proceso 1001. He co-founded the workers' union Comisiones Obreras and was a deputy for the PCE and IU parties for three terms, ultimately becoming the parliamentary spokesperson for the coalition until 1993. He is the author of books and articles on topics such as socialism, unions, dictatorship, transition, and language in politics, and is currently still active in radio and the press.
