Juan Pablo Villalobos

Juan Pablo Villalobos was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, in 1973. He studied Marketing and Hispanic Literature. He has undertaken hundreds of market studies and has published travel diaries and cinema criticism. He has studied such diverse themes as the ergonomics of toilets, the influence of the vanguard on the works of César Aira, the flexibility of rubber tubing in electrical installations, the secondary effects of medicine to deal with erectile dysfunction and the eccentricity of Latin American literature in the first half of the XXth Century. He has been a student on the Alban programme, a grant student at the European Union for Latin America and of the Institute of Linguistic-Literary investigation at the University of Veracruz. He studied a Doctorate in Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He currently lives in Barcelona, where he combines his writing with his job in a company dedicated to e-commerce.
